Tony Tran is a Toronto-born actor, writer, and a lover of Vietnamese coffee, whose work often explores comedy and queer intersections.

As an actor, Tony can be seen in variety of works, including Homeschooled (Boss & Co/CBC Gem), Run Burbs (Pier 21 Films/CBC), Ghosts of Christmas Past (Lifetime), True Dating Stories (LaRue/CBC Gem) and Work It (Netflix).

Recently, Tony received the OAC's Skills & Career Development Grant, where he honed his studies in Voice-Over for Animation & Video Games, and accent work, with a focus in studying the nuances of Asian accents.


As a writer, Tony loves writing campy queer TV comedy. He is a graduate of the BIPOC TV & Film's Kids TV Writing Bootcamp and is currently working as a writer with various productions, including Corus, Nelvana, Wildbrain, Fresh TV and Yellow Animation. 


He was selected one of the Top 10 Finalists of the Magee TV Diverse Screenwriter's Award (2020) and Project 10's Top 5 Comedy Pilots (2021).  Tony is also the recipient of the recent Rogers-BSO Script Development Fund (2021).

Recently, his feature, Oscar, was featured as July 2022's Script of Month through the Writer's Guild of Canada.
